What affects the price of mobile tire service
- Coming to you. Mobile techs bring a tire machine and balancer in a van, so prices include travel.
- Number of tires. Mounting four tires on one visit costs much less per tire than one at a time.
- Wheel size. Large, low-profile and run-flat tires take longer and need more care to avoid scratching wheels.
- Sensors. TPMS sensors are priced per wheel, plus programming them to the car.
- Tires. Tires you buy yourself are not included. Ask about disposal fees for the old ones.
The low end of the range is a newer mobile tire tech at about $50 an hour. The high end is an experienced pro at about $90 an hour who travels to you. Many mobile tire techs have a minimum charge of around $60. Prices are higher in big cities.
Common questions
Can every flat tire be repaired?
No. A puncture in the tread up to about a quarter inch can usually be plugged and patched. Holes in the sidewall or shoulder, or a tire that was driven flat, mean a new tire.
Can I buy tires online and have them installed?
Yes. Many mobile tire techs will mount and balance tires you ship to your home. Check that the size matches what is on your door sticker.

How the prices are worked out
Each price is your hourly rate times the typical time for that job, plus supplies and driving, plus your overhead and profit, rounded up to the nearest $5. Small jobs use a $60 minimum. If you work faster or slower than the times shown, adjust your hourly rate.
Before you post prices, check two or three local mobile tire techs on Google or Facebook. If you're well below them, you can probably charge more.
